Digestive Risks

It always amazes me how all cultures have some kind of blessing with it comes to food. For days now, the tribesmen I'm living with place their meals next to a box of sacred burning incense. The act is scientifically not hygienic, yet it seems the blessing is more important for their wellbeing somehow.
Thinking out loud to myself, why don't we put our money or even our kids next to a box of burning incense every morning to be blessed the same way?
I believe it comes down to risk management. I think there is a feeling of risk when it comes to food consumption. Our efforts of replenishment naturally ends after putting that bite in our mouth. After that, there is an extreme dependence on our digestive bodies to process that juicy mouthfull all the way to the toilet sink.
Although our money and kids realistically go through far risker aspects in life, these risks are external. We seem to have that delusional idea that we can manage these risks. While on the other hand, our internal digestive system is invisible to us. Hence, that helpless risk of getting sick or constipating is always in our minds.
Here is to managing external risks, and just leaving internal risks to go with the flow(no pun intended)!
